with Led by one of the Friends of Abbey House
A day to come and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Abbey House. The day will start and finish with prayers, the rest of the day can be spent in our grounds or in the house. Refreshments provided but please bring your own lunch.

Led by the Friends of Abbey House
Come and spend a day in quiet in the beautiful surroundings of Abbey House. The day will begin and close with prayer but the rest of the day is for you to enjoy whetther it be a stroll in our grounds, reading a book from our extensive library and just to sit and be in peace.

Monday 7th October : More Spirituality from the Old Testament

The Old Testament contains many stories that, rather than being taken literally, can be seen as describing the inner journey we all must make through ourselves to the God that lies beyond. For many this can be a new and helpful way to relate to a part of the Bible that they find difficult and off-putting.

This day will explore the imagery of the spiritual quest in terms of movement from the realms of everyday life to the interior aspects of the soul. This has been expressed in architectural terms throughout human history, in ritual activity, and in such spiritual literary classics as The Interior Castle of St.Teresa of Avila.
